Fleming County Hospital Hosts USDA Director Travis Burton and Team

Fleming County Hospital (FCH) hosted representatives from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), including USDA Rural Development State Director for Kentucky Travis Burton, local elected officials and community leaders at the hospital on Thursday, September 18. The visit included a hospital update from Fleming County Hospital CEO & Market President Kathy Vancampen and discussion about several USDA Rural Development programs that are available to support local communities and businesses. 

During the visit, Vancampen provided insight into the hospital’s future plans following its recent transition to a Rural Emergency Hospital, as well as what the new designation means for the local community, and hospital staff gave tours of the facility highlighting the growth potential for outpatient and other healthcare services.

“Fleming County Hospital is proud to welcome Travis Burton and his team members from the USDA to our hospital and community,” said Vancampen. “We look forward to continued collaboration and partnership with state and local leaders as we work to advance our mission of making communities healthier.”

Local business and community leaders in attendance included Adam Hinton, Vice President of Hinton Mills and Director of the Kentucky Welding Institute; Brandon Hunt, President & CEO of Fleming-Mason Energy; Brian Creasman, PhD, Superintendent of Fleming County Schools; Judge Owen McNeil, Mason County Judge Executive; Lonnie Foley, President & CEO of People Bank of Kentucky; Van Alexander, Mayor of Flemingsburg; Representative William Lawrence, Kentucky State Representative; Josh Stacy, Superintendent of Fleming County Water Association.
