Fleming County Hospital Names Joyce Fidler 2026 Mercy Award Winner
July 01, 2026
Fleming County Hospital recently announced that Joyce Fidler, Director of Growth and Outreach, has been recognized as the facility’s 2026 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s facilities who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.
Established in 2001, the Mercy Award is an annual recognition program that honors the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.
“Our compassionate team drives our mission to build healthier communities, and Joyce Fidler models this dedication perfectly every single day,” stated Fleming County Hospital CEO Kathy Vancampen. “We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate her second time receiving this award. Joyce's exceptional devotion to our patients, staff, and community is unmatched. I am deeply thankful for her uplifting spirit and the inspiring standard she continuously sets for our entire team.”
Joyce does not just work for our hospital; she serves as the vital heartbeat connecting our facility to the community we care for. She is a leader in planning and executing major outreach initiatives, and Joyce consistently infuses each project with deep, genuine care for the community. Her leadership is the driving force behind several of the hospital most successful events such as the Community Health Fair, Lunch and Learn Seminars, and the Community Track or Treat.
Beyond her professional excellence, Joyce’s selflessness shines through an incredible roster of personal community service. She is an active driving force in her local church, the Fleming County Rotary Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and the Fleming County Interagency Council. Whether she is organizing holiday relief through Community Christmas or mentoring youth through the Fleming County High School "Truth or Consequences" program, Joyce lives a life dedicated to uplifting others.
Each facility winner, including Joyce, will be considered for Lifepoint’s 2026 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in September.
